Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick: Rosé

Sephora's description: peachy pink

My rating:

The lowdown

Rosé is a bit bubblegummy on the lip for my taste (and also for the actual color of the its namesake, I think), and it is also on the sheer side. That said, I have a soft spot for peachy tones, and even though my lip color, visible through the lipstick, cools those tones a bit, there are traces that I still like. It feels really nice and moisturizing on the lip, and is quite light and pretty non-sticky. A pretty solid lipstick!

Kat Von D Foiled Love Lipstick: Forever & Never

Sephora's description: metallic golden peach

My rating:

Note: I love this color! I love the opacity too! The reason I'm only giving it four lips out
of five is because the case broke, and that's an automatic point deduction.

The lowdown

Full disclosure: I'm in love with this color, I think it is amazing and everyone should have it. That said, the case broke without provocation, and now when I apply light pressure to the raised bullet with my lip brush the lipstick recedes back into its case like a recalcitrant turtle. Sigh. I had to dock points. But the color and opacity are fantastic, so all I'm sayin' is it might be worth a struggle with the hardware to get this stuff on your face.

The look

I created an odd ombre for this look, in which it moves from Forever & Never to Kat Von D's Rosary on the top lip and from Rosary to Forever & Never on the bottom. I quite like the look, and I think you should rock it too!

Homemade Pastel Lipstick on the Lip 3

This is the third installment of the homemade-lipstick-in-action series.

I decided to mix the pink and orange to get a coral, my current color obsession (even though it doesn't always look great on me... =/) and it came out really well!

If you would like to know how Rebecca and I made this color, check out the post here. It is super cheap and easy and the payoff is huge if you're into mixing your own colors!
